Tuscarawas County, Ohio
Destination Learning celebrates the educational opportunities available in Tuscarawas County, Ohio for homeschool groups and traditional students. History sites come alive with hands-on experiences and students of all ages will love exploring our parks and trails.
Two National Historic Landmarks (The Dennison Railroad Depot Museum and Historic Zoar Village) along with Ohio’s only Revolutionary War Fort (Fort Laurens) and the site of Ohio’s first church and school (Historic Schoenbrunn Village) showcases the significant contributions Tuscarawas County has made to Ohio history.
Our entertainment and fine arts scene challenges students to explore their creative side. Various classes and exhibits are available at the Tuscarawas Center for the Arts and stories come to life at the Performing Arts Center at Kent State University at Tuscarawas, the Ohio Star Theater, the Little Theater, or at Ohio’s oldest outdoor drama, Trumpet in the Land.

Join us every Friday and Saturday at 1pm for our Family Tours.
Our Family Tours are geared towards our younger guests, allowing children to learn about steam locomotives and railroading through a series of interactive activities as opposed to our standard, walking tours. Children and their families will be guided through the Roundhouse by a trained staff member who will
engage the kids in fun, informative activities and demonstrations that will help them understand steam locomotives and railroading history better. Tours last 45 minutes and all child guests will be treated to a craft at the end of the tour! Tickets available on the Roundhouse website.
